June 2008 - Single Phase Active Front-end Inverter ships
The first single phase active front-end inverter has shipped to Queensland Rail. The new active front-end inverter is a component in a brake compressor system on the Queensland Rail EMU. The development of this 600 Platform product significant as now all Schaffler auxiliary inverters are compatible with 25kV single phase overhead supplies.
December 2007 - AusRAIL 2007 a success!
AusRAIL 2007 was a great success for SCHAFFLER. Our stand was inundated with many new customers. It was also pleasing to see quite a few of our existing customers who took the opportunity to see us and get an update on new product developments. We had quite a response to our new TrainCam products for use on rolling stock, depots and remote locations.
The AusRAIL exhibition was held in Sydney over three days in early December 2007.
February 2007 - Schaffler awarded grant
The Australian Research Council has awarded a grant of $138,000 to SCHAFFLER for the development of a buck-boost chopper for 750 Vdc Rail. Research and development will take place at Queensland University of Technology.
