About Schaffler
Schaffler and Associates Pty Ltd is a privately owned company that specialises in designing and manufacturing power electronic products exclusively for the railway industry. Both design and manufacture take place at the company's design office and assembly plant in Sydney, Australia.
Our designs pay special attention to the rough environment and high operating temperatures experienced by railway products in so many countries. We depend on our experience with Australian railway conditions where it is not uncommon for ambient temperatures to reach close to 60°C.
Recent developments have steered Schaffler and Associates' product development toward reducing the excessive weight of power electronic equipment with reductions of up to 70% in weight.
The company has an extensive design team of engineers with vast experience in power electronic engineering. We specialise in retrofitting our equipment to existing rolling stock. We understand the need to fit the equipment into existing spaces and to reduce the amount of installation time so that rolling stock can be returned to service as quickly as possible.
We are careful to listen to our customer's needs so that we can solve their power electronic product challenges.
